CALLING ALL SECONDARY SCHOOLS…..Celebrating the 75th Anniversary of D-Day – a unique opportunity!
This is an invitation for you and your students to tune into the FREE LIVE STREAMING of a specially commissioned performance of the D-Day play “Bomb Happy” on Friday 21 June at 1.30pm. The performance will be followed by a short Q&A session with existing Normandy Veterans.
Show length 80 minutes, Q&A maximum 20 minutes.
Bomb Happy evocatively brings to life the first hand accounts of five of the last York Normandy Veterans, who, as young lads from York, Leeds, Sheffield & London, found themselves part of one of the most important military operations of World War Two… the D-Day Landings.
Told in their own words, Bomb Happy follows each Veteran’s unique journey from D-Day to VE Day, highlighting the lifelong impact of post traumatic stress disorder.
VETERANS Q&A: At least one of the veterans whose story is told in Bomb Happy will be in attendance at the live streaming along with other D-Day Veterans. Participating schools can email in a question for the Veterans prior to the event.
To take part you are asked to register your interest- email everwitch@outlook.com and a registration form will be sent to you.
Participating schools will then be sent a link to the Live Streaming which will need to be tested a week before the performance. On the day itself schools are asked to sign in to the link one hour beforehand.
The Live Streaming will be free for the first 40 schools that register. Thereafter there will be a small charge of £5.00 per school. Participating schools will be asked to comment on the experience following the performance.
